As the Government of Kenya rolls out the Competency-Based Education (CBE), VVF seeks to ensure its literacy interventions are aligned with the national education framework. To this end, VVF-Kenya is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced education consultant to conduct a comprehensive VVF curriculum review and provide actionable recommendations for alignment with CBE standards.

Objectives of the Consultancy


Review the existing VVF literacy curriculum and compare it with Kenya’s CBE for Grades 1–3.
Identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Provide concrete, practical recommendations for curriculum alignment.
Take the lead in actioning the identified recommendations.
Present findings and recommendations to VVF’s leadership team.


Scope of Work

The consultancy will include:


Desk review of VVF and CBE materials
Field visits to selected primary schools
Interviews and stakeholder consultations
Development of a gap analysis report
Presentation of findings and recommendations
Facilitating the actioning of the findings and recommendations
Submission of a final revised report

Qualifications and Experience


Advanced degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or related field
Proven experience in curriculum analysis and educational consulting
In-depth knowledge of Kenya’s CBC and early-grade learning
Strong writing and presentation skills
Previous experience working with NGOs or literacy programs is an advantage
