QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Driver’s license – Code C1 will be an added advantage
PRDP will be an added advantage.
Must have worked in physically demanding environment

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;

Form part of a demolitions team for the destruction of ammunition and explosives by open pit detonation, burning, incineration and other complying and cost-saving methods. 
Range clearance and reporting of suspect UXOs on all impact areas and the demolition range. 
Conduct Search and Recovery of inert ammunition items at all impact areas. 
Form part of the EOD team to render ammunition safe at all impact areas and the demolitions range. 
Assist with packing and palletising of explosives and ammunition articles for transport and storage purposes, including demolitions and EOD requirements. 
Assist with destructive testing requirements and setting up of environmental and insensitive ammunition tests. 
Ensure proper housekeeping for inert ammunition articles and recovered scrap. 
Shredding of unserviceable plastic ammunition containers. 
Assist with the disposal of inactive leftovers from demolition and EOD activities. 
Carry out ad-hoc tasks as per the instructions of the Senior Technician: Demolitions.

Basic knowledge of the OHS Act
