JOB DESCRIPTION
Department - Cargo Operations
Job Summary /Objective:

The staff will be responsible for shipment assessment and raising of shipment assessment advice (light parcels, bulky shipments, household items and charters etc) 

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

HND/B.Sc in any  discipline with a minimum of 2nd class honours.
MUST have completed NYSC programme.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Core Skills

100% inspection of items to be contracted on waybill
Properly identify, classify, mark, label and document shipment.
Ascertain and advice the customer on the appropriate packaging required
Correct price allocation of waybill types
Raise payment advice for the customer to make payment
Ensure proper / detailed description of items on the assessment advice or where not practicable use “as per attached list”. A copy of such list should accompany the waybill.
Tagging and marking of waybills

A.   Supervise porters on proper packaging of shipments as advised in (b) above

Transfer of booked items to warehouse.
Accurate inventory of all items sent to warehouse( ensure warehouse officer signs)
Marking of fragile, hazardous and special shipment
