DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on heavy-duty trucks (engine, transmission, braking systems, etc.)
Conduct routine maintenance and servicing (oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments)
Troubleshoot electrical systems and make necessary repairs
Ensure trucks comply with safety standards and road regulations
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
Maintain detailed records of services and repairs
Order and replace parts as needed
Collaborate with other mechanics and truck drivers to ensure efficient workflow
Test drive trucks after repairs to confirm the issues are resolved
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the garage

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Mechanics or related field
3+ years of experience as a Truck Mechanic or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty truck components
Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations
Strong command of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking). Proficiency in French and/or Swahili is highly desirable.
A valid passport for potential travel requirements.
