Job Description


Receive and process biological specimens, including urine, blood, and other samples, for laboratory testing and analysis.
Prepare standard volumetric solutions and reagents in accordance with laboratory protocols.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids to assist in disease diagnosis and treatment.
Analyze and interpret test results, and compile accurate reports for physician review.
Adhere strictly to laboratory quality control, assurance procedures, and safety standards.
Conduct blood grouping and cross-matching for transfusion purposes.
Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to junior laboratory staff and interns.
Contribute to the advancement of medical science by authoring and publishing articles in scientific journals.


Requirements


Must be duly registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) or relevant regulatory body.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills in clinical laboratory settings.
Excellent communication and active listening skills.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems (LIS) and computer applications.
Accurate and methodical record-keeping and documentation skills.
