The role:

 Flutterwave is seeking a seasoned Head, Business Development to lead and oversee regional business development efforts. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving sales, expanding merchant partnerships, and fostering revenue growth in the market(s) of focus. 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be Like 


Strategic Business Development Leadership:

Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies, aligning them with the company's overall growth objectives
Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential partnerships to expand Flutterwave's presence in the market(s)


Sales and Revenue Growth:

Lead the effort to achieve and exceed budgeted sales targets, driving merchant onboarding and revenue growth. You will be responsible to achieve your own sales quota as an individual contributor as well as that of your team.


Relationship Management:

Foster and maintain strong relationships with key merchants, enterprise businesses, and other strategic partners
Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and promptly address any customer complaints or concerns


Team Oversight and Development:

Provide leadership and mentorship
Attend calls, meetings (prospecting) with your team, close deals- demonstrated leadership


Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Regularly review business development performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement
Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management, detailing the progress and achievements of the business development team


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to align strategies and achieve overall company objectives


Industry Insights and Networking:

Stay abreast of market trends, industry changes, and competitor activities in the market
Attend relevant events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent Flutterwave and gather market intelligence




Required competency and skill set to be a waver.


Bachelor's degree in a Sales, Business Development, or related field
12+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a related leadership role, with a focus on the local market(s)
Hunter mindset- you should be able to prospect, qualify, onboard & make your merchants go live & help your team to achieve the same 
Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively leading and motivating teams
Excellent people management and mentorship skills
Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets year on year
In-depth knowledge of the local market, industry trends, and competitive landscape
Exceptional relationship management and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships
Strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions
Strategic mindset with the ability to envision and execute long-term business goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present complex ideas and information to both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions
