Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Cutting/Bending Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cutting and bending machines to shape materials such as metal, plastic, or composite materials into specified dimensions and forms. You will ensure precision, quality, and adherence to safety standards in the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Operate cutting and bending machines, such as shears, press brakes, or CNC machines, to cut and shape materials according to production requirements.
Adjust machine settings, including speed, pressure, and angle, based on material type, thickness, and job specifications.
Load materials into machines, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening for accurate cutting or bending.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and consistency to ensure they meet design specifications.
Measure and verify dimensions using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Make necessary adjustments to machines to correct any deviations from the required specifications.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on cutting and bending equipment, such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts.
Identify and troubleshoot any issues with machines, tools, or materials to minimize downtime and production delays.
Report significant equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel for repair.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Comply with company and regulatory safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, material usage, and any changes made during the process.
Report production progress, quality concerns, and material shortages to supervisors.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and production staff to meet daily and weekly production goals.
Communicate any concerns related to materials, machines, or production schedules to the appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical training in machine operation, fabrication, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience operating cutting and/or bending machines in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Familiarity with CNC machines or programmable machines is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot cutting and bending machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Proficient in using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
Knowledge of material properties and how different materials behave during cutting and bending processes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and handle materials up to work equipments.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific machines (e.g., CNC press brake, laser cutters, shears).
Certification in machine operation or relevant technical fields.
Familiarity with automated or robotic cutting and bending processes.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with potential for overtime.
Work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to loud noise, high temperatures, and industrial machinery.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
