Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Doctor to join our team at our brand new livestock farm. As a Veterinary Doctor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, which over time may include Pigs, Goats and Chickens.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular health assessments and examinations of our livestock to identify and treat any health issues promptly.
• Develop and implement vaccination programs to prevent diseases and maintain herd health.
• Provide medical treatment and surgical interventions as necessary for injured or sick animals.
• Collaborate with farm supervisor and other staff to develop and implement best practices for animal welfare and health management.
• Maintain accurate records of livestock, veterinary treatments, procedures, and inventory of medical supplies.
• Offer guidance and support to farm staff on animal health and welfare matters.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and apply new techniques or technologies to improve animal care practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Veterinary degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Cross River State, Nigeria.
• Proven experience working with livestock, particularly Pigs.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Efik and English)
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to animal welfare and ethical veterinary practices.
