Your mission
The position is responsible for ensuring that all programs in Uganda align with War Child's mandate and Country Strategy. This role involves supporting local partners, managing project implementation, support fund raising initiatives including writing project proposals, represent War Child in coordination forums and with the Ministry and OPM and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to maintain program quality and compliance with donor guidelines. The role involves program development, develop local partnership, quality assurance, staff capacity building, research, and managing a dynamic team.

Qualifications, Competencies and Requirements;- Master’s degree in in Social Work, Community Development, Social Sciences or any other relevant degree.
- Knowledge of psychosocial programmes for children within the Humanitarian sector
- 5 years’ experience in a management position
- Experience with community-based programmes with an (I)NGO in post conflict context
- Experience in managing over 5 staff in the recent years and proven record in with training and capacity building of staff.
- Experience with strategic networking for partnership development and resource mobilisation, familiarity with major donors (EC, ECHO, USAID, FCDO), and with UN agencies
- Social and communicative skills for coaching and managing of staff and frequent internal and external contacts.
- Proven success in writing proposals and fundraising 
- Ability to assess social/ political situations and able to act in a diplomatic way in delicate situations.
- Good listening, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and practicing shared leadership
- Good people management skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize.
