Job Specification

Duties and Responsibilities will entail;


Preparing institutional infrastructure maintenance plans.
Preparing technical designs for experimental systems based on research scientist performance requirements;
Advising research scientists on technical feasibility of proposed infrastructure developments;
Supervising ongoing infrastructure projects; and
Mentoring, supervising, guiding and training engineers within the department.


Person Specifications 

For appointment to this grade, a person must have: -


At least six (6) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at the position of Engineer or a comparable position in the public or private sector;
Bachelor of Science Degree in one of the following fields: - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Building and Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering
Post-graduate diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Maritime and Civil Engineering, or    equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; 
Registration with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya; 
Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
Proficiency literate in computer especially in the use of auto card, arch card, MS word Revit, Ms Project, Civil 3D, Prokon and other structural design & detailing software. skills; and
Meets the requirements provisions of chapter six of constitution.

Remuneration and Benefits


Basic Salary Scale: KShs. 116,410 – KShs. 151,334 P.M.;
House Allowance: KShs. 45,000 P.M. 
Commuter Allowance: KShs. 13,000 P.M. 
Annual Leave Allowance: KShs.12,500 P.A. 
Medical Cover and Other Allowances: As provided by KMFRI
