Overall purpose of the role:

The economic recovery officer is responsible for supporting the Economic Recovery program and vocational training, including, day-to-day monitoring and supervise of the delivery of business grants and vocational training in MMC, Jere and Konduga LGAs. The position will support in facilitating relations between... NADA and local communities in the realization of project activities. 

Responsibilities:


Actively participate in communicating NADA economic recovery activities to the stakeholders and the community.
Identification, and registration of the economic recovery activities targets groups. 
Conducting profiling and counselling sessions for identified candidates according to the project selection process.
Ensure equal participation by all segments of the community, taking into consideration issues regarding gender, age, and people with disabilities.
Lead in and conduct various field assessments and surveys including needs assessment, market, and labour market assessments, and baseline surveys.
Strengthen the links between NADA and stakeholders including vocational Training (VT) centre, Chamber of commerce, and other relevant stakeholders.
Maintain a clear database of all possible participants in the program (selected and not selected) and provide regular updates (at least monthly)
Identify gaps in the business market and encourage the development of new relevant businesses to fill the gap.
Monitoring and supporting project implementation at the field level.
Held business support training with beneficiaries for Business grants, as well as other beneficiaries identified for such trainings by the NADA database.
Provide regular advice and technical support to business development support beneficiaries.
Organize and support the running of vocational training activities.
Regularly supervise and monitor project activities and provide timely inputs, feedback, updates and weekly reports to the project coordinator.
Compile monthly reports on activities conducted and vocational training to the project coordinator.
Actively contribute to the teamwork of the Economic recovery activities.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator

Job Description


The Project Officer – DRR is responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination and monitoring of disaster risk reduction activities under the RESICAL II project.
The role includes building the capacity of stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination and supporting the integration of DRR strategies at various levels.
The Project Officer will work closely with partners and local communities to achieve project goals while adhering to NADAs security policies and organizational procedures.
The position will also involve contributing to the development of DRR strategies and ensuring that project activities align with both local and national disaster management frameworks.


Responsibilities

Project Implementation:


Support the implementation of DRR activities in line with project goals and timelines.
Assist in the development and dissemination of DRR plans, strategies, and policies at the local and state levels.
Engage with local communities, government bodies, and other stakeholders to promote DRR practices and awareness.
Ensure that DRR interventions are culturally sensitive and adapted to the specific needs of the communities.


Capacity Building:


– Facilitate training sessions and workshops for stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and local organizations, on DRR best practices.
– Strengthen the capacity of local organizations and communities to effectively prepare for and respond to disasters.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.

Compliance and Security:


Ensure that all project activities comply with NADAs security policies, safeguarding standards, and other organizational procedures.

Monitor the security situation in the project area and report any concerns to the relevant authorities.
Implement contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with security threats or natural disasters.

Qualifications


A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Environmental Science, Disaster Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
At least 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in Governance and disaster risk reduction or related sectors.
Strong knowledge of Governance and DRR principles, policies, and practices.
Experience in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and community mobilization.
Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.

Job Summary

The Selected candidates will work as core team to conduct a beneficiary profiling exercise which is aimed at updating and refining the list of households and beneficiaries in IDP camps and host community locations through a verification process to account for the births and deaths of beneficiary household members, to eliminate non-valid SCOPE card records and individuals who may... have left the camps or host communities.
The Targeting assistant will technically be supervised and supported by the Project Officer.

NADA in partnership with World Food Progrmme (WFP) for the period of three months shall implement Targeting services in Nangere, Fune, Fika, Machina, Bade, Yusufari, Yunusari, Nguru, Jakusko and Karasuwa LGAs of Yobe State.
The overall project goal is to under the partnership with WFP, increase access to quality to food distribution, up to date data of WFP’s beneficiaries in targeted locations as well as strengthening the Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Exploitation of vulnerable persons in IDP camps and host communities.
Description of Task

Support in the training of enumerators census with the use of mobile data collecting tool.
Classify households according to their level of vulnerability and ensure that food assistance is targeted to households based on their vulnerability.
Set-up a complaints and grievance point within the targeted community.
Involved in Community-based preliminary registration with possible household “door to door” in the case of urban area.
Establish community registration or targeting committee and ensure are good representative for the community.
Digitization of the draft master lists and ensure that all columns for all household members are accurately recorded and completed.
Establish Community registration/targeting committee based on the community context (primary, secondary and exclusion criteria).
Ensure all the process are accurately recorded and publicly announced to all households within the community.
Training of community targeting committee on how to use targeting criteria.
Provide the registration format/forms to establish the draft registration master list.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within Novel Alliance for Development Aid and amongst beneficiaries served by NADA.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Novel Alliance for Development Aid.
As applicable to the position, maintain a clear understanding of Novel Alliance for Development Aids’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adhered to those standard. 
Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Qualifications and Experience:

Higher National Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Food Security, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Economics, Social Work related discipline and at least two years of professional experience in food and cash assistance interventions. Experience in northeast Nigeria is an added advantage
Fluency in speaking and understanding English, Kanuri and Hausa.

Required skills:

Experience in community mobilization and sensitization.
Good computer skills especially Word, Excel and Access. Knowledge of other databases preferred.
Good human relations and diplomacy.
Possess a high analytical capacity.
Demonstrate critical thinking.
Attention to details and able to work with minimum supervision.
Fluent in English, Hausa and Kanuri.
Capacity to work under stressful situations.
Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to coordinate work across multiple departments.
