Job description
Drilling Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer to support and direct... drilling engineering functions to support complex drilling operations; and lead major drilling engineering projects that require original or unusual analysis and solutions. As the successful candidate you will have extensive experience with Drilling & Workover rigs for all types of well construction (oil, gas, and exploration). You will have experience to develop cost analysis, and prepare detailed drilling & workover evaluations and programs. Prepare standard development practices and procedures to ensure maximum drilling efficiency consistent with safety, economics, reservoir, and aquifer considerations.
Responsibilities

Provide sound drilling engineering methods and procedures to be used on assigned drilling problems.
Execute and accomplish assignments and studies in areas outlined in the scope, assuring conformance to overall objectives of all phases of drilling operations in areas including drilling penetration rate optimization, new drilling technology, and drilling studies.
Deliver technical support for many types of drilling wells in swamp and offshore terrains, horizontal oil and gas wells, HPHT gas wells. Wells include water injections and producing wells, exploration wells and all kind of workovers.
Analyze advanced drilling data and the performance of new or existing drilling techniques to determine a need for or benefit from studies, recommendations, and/or modifications with respect to unit costs, and operating efficiency consistent with established operations.
Assume ownership of relevant general Instructions and standards and, when applicable, recommend improvements to operational processes and guidelines.
Extend training and technical support to junior engineers and ensure the sustained meeting of global standards, practices, and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or any engineering field.
Minimum of 12 years’ experience (with a strong preference for 15 years’ plus experience) as a drilling engineer or foreman in the conventional oil industry or a major international oil operator.
Minimum of 5 years working as an operations drilling engineer with at least 3-year cumulative time working on a rig as a Drilling Engineer or Drilling Supervisor/Foreman or equivalent.

Job Description
As part of the company’s drilling and completions operations team and in liaison with the... geologist, experienced mud engineers are required for quality review of the basis of design for proposed fluids systems, mixing, testing and ensuring proper engineering and well objectives are met during the planning and drilling process.
Responsibilities:

Review basis of design with service provider
Controls the technology to prepare the drilling mud
Monitors the drilling fluid mud cleaning system’s operation
Participates in the optimization of the flushing fluids, and cleaning equipment modes of operation
Recommends optimal operating modes for cleaning fluid stages
Ensures the biopolymer fluid parameters comply with work plans
Recommends treatment of drilling fluid with reagents
Recommends the replacement of drilling fluid to maintain optimal parameters and drilling fluid system properties
Minimizes waste associated with draining fluids
Works with geologist, drilling engineers and technicians to ensure a cost-effective drilling process
Recommend the right amount of mud needed at all stages
Coordinates the activities of service providers during the drilling process
Provide input in the selection of drill bits

Job and Skill Requirements

Expert knowledge of fluid systems, drilling fluids, and drilling bits
Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations
Ability to create detailed mud logs and reviews
Knowledge of different drilling contaminants, additives, and mud treatment 
Proficient understanding of waste management
Technical knowledge in mathematics, physics, geology, and chemistry
Knowledge of various extraction techniques
Strong IT skills
Interpretational and cooperation skills
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mineral, or petroleum engineering or other relevant fields
Necessary medical certificates
Valid Well Control Certification
HUET, Basic Firefighting, Water Survival, and FAST training
Offshore survival course certification, such as the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training Certificate (BOSIET)
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) certificates more

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or other relevant discipline.
Post graduate qualifications in Business Administration and other relevant field would be an advantage.
Minimum of 20 years progressive operational, marketing/sales and managerial experience with at least 10 years at Top Managerial level in a reputable oil and gas company or reputable FMCG company.

Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Proficiency in formulating policies, developing and implementing new strategies and procedures to achieve company’s goals.
