The Counselor will join our team and help our patients live better lives by helping them develop problem-solving skills to address mental health issues. He/ she is responsible for building relationships with patients by listening and assisting them in developing habits that improve their lives and overcome stress, anxiety, and behavioral disorders. The incumbent is responsible for:

Providing counseling services to individuals and families of people living with a disability.
Record patient information and manage confidential files.
Conducting psychological evaluations of patients to diagnose mental illness.
Identifying potential risks in patients’ lives that could lead to emotional problems.
Preparing reports on patient progress and recommendations for treatment.
Providing clinical intervention to individuals who are experiencing mental health issues such as depression or anxiety disorders.
Offering support and guidance during sessions with patients.
Conducting research on topics related to people living with leprosy and disability.
Work in close contact with the Head of Programmes and Operations to facilitate the effective
implementation of TLMN Country Strategy in line with the TLMN Policies, processes and Procedures.

Background

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer based at the country office in Abuja, the
Project Assistants will perform tasks such as coordinating and supporting the implementation of all
TLMN projects at NCO, State and community levels. The Project Assistants will be based in Abuja and will work closely with Government staff, community groups and DPOs including... PIACs, CMCs,
JONAPWD, IDEA, in planning and implementation of project activities according to TLMN project cycle management framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Implementation and Monitoring of Project activities and reporting
The field officer ensures effective planning, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of the
TLM-Nigeria programs in the state.
Under the supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, the Programme Assistant maintains a comprehensive understanding of the health and development needs in his/her State of
Responsibility (SOR) through ensuring continuous collection, analysis and synthesis of relevant information.
Participates in assessments, analysis, reviews and evaluation of health and development issues to make relevant proposals that are based on TLM-Nigeria priorities and Country Strategy.
Facilitate joint planning and review meetings with the participating Beneficiaries.
Maintain appropriate data on project implementation as per the project monitoring and evaluation plan.
Compile and submit quarterly activity report and any other report as may be required by the Senior
Programme Officer.
Mobilize Community towards project activities.
Create awareness creation on project goal, objectives and expected outputs.
Facilitate development of community structures for managing the implementation of project activities.
Facilitate recruitment and training of Community Based Resource Persons and Beneficiaries.
Provide continuous re-orientation and training to Community Based Resource Persons and
Beneficiaries on topical areas relevant to programme implementation and team building.

TLM-Nigeria programmes in the State.
Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant State Ministries,
Departments and Agencies. Keeping the Senior Programme Officer in the loop of all

Represents the TLM-Nigeria in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field,

Job Summary:

Work within the programs unit to introduce and monitor the implementation of all projects in TLMN including GFATM and special projects to ensure efficient and effective M&E of all project activities.

Assist in preparing periodic programmatic reports on behalf of TLMN according to donor’s guidelines

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in producing monthly, quarterly and annual... M&E reports based on agreed indicators that will guide decision-making and program implementation.
Assist in the compilation of half-year and annual reports of project data and reports for submission to TLMI and other partners.
Collect, collate, analyze and interpret TB, TB/HIV, and leprosy data according to national guidelines.
Undertake periodic monitoring and technical support visit to states.
Assist to Support the design and implementation of baseline/midline/end-term and other surveys as well as conduct project reviews according to the approved work plan.
Work with partners to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data needed for an effective M&E system which will be utilized in the monitoring of strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in existing programs and services required for reporting.
Contribute to TLMN-wide organizational learning by disseminating data, reports, and lessons learned provided by field staff and state partners.
Assist to develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures.
