Provide technical expertise and support in the design, implementation, and monitoring of EMS-related activities.

Your profile:


Standardized training of minimum two years in Paramedicine, Emergency Medical Services, or a related field. Additional degree is an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical setting, EMS operations, paramedic services, or a related technical EMS role.
Experience in training EMS personnel and developing EMS protocols and guidelines /familiarity with EMS systems in Kenya and the East African context is an advantage.
Strong technical expertise in EMS operations, including pre-hospital care, triage, and transport.
Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation tools specific to EMS services/strong data analysis and report-writing skills. 
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
Willingness to travel frequently within Kenya and occasionally to other countries in the region.

Conceptualise MI strategy and program in Kenya and contribute to developing new program ideas and concepts together with the program team and HQ

Your profile:


Graduate or post graduate degree with relevant experiences in emergency relief, rehabilitation and/or development aid
Minimum 3 years overseas working experience in a (senior) management position in humanitarian assistance and development programs with experience in either of the sectors: WASH, health, livelihood and/or environment projects
Experiences in working with and through national partner organizations, understanding of the localization approach
Excellent and proven interpersonal communication and leadership skills to diplomatically manage relationships with local partners, authorities and donors
Strong international project management skills, community-based approaches would be an asset
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, German would be an asset more

Under the direct supervision of the Area Coordinator (Maiduguri, Jere and Konduga), the Protection Officer will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of Malteser International’s GBV Programme implementation by partners across MI locations of intervention in the titled location. Specifically, s/he will plan, implement, monitor and document protection activities targeting MI... beneficiaries, community structures and local stakeholders.


Main Responsibilities:


Ensure GBV survivors and those at risk of Gender Based Violence (GBV) are identified and receive individual support by ensuring standard tools and procedures are in place and adhered to by implementing partners while complying with the rules and regulations of Malteser International and donors.
Manage, provide training and technical support, and build the capacity of the full case management team.
Document all GBV cases and other related activities well and establish a good filing system.
Contribute to regular internal and external donor reporting.
Ensure continuous and effective liaison and coordination with target communities (IDPs and Host) as well as local and government authorities and other stakeholders on case management and offer referrals of cases where necessary.
Monitor day-to-day activities in programmes to ensure best practices are adhered to in provision of GBV case management and psychosocial support services to survivors of gender-based violence by implementing partners.
Follow up all referrals and track effective referrals. Liaise with relevant partners to procure services for cases by initiating communication with the concerned agencies for further assistant to the affected communities.
Ensure proper protection monitoring activities informed by protection trends. Coordinate the entire protection monitoring exercise, analyze and compile report and liaise with the protection manager for technical support with graphs, visuals and analysis of different dashboards regularly at LGA level
Prepare and compile weekly, monthly reports on project activities on a timely manner and share this with the line manager.
Ensure all data protection and other protection policies are followed including IPA review and case conferencing using appropriate tools and platforms
Responsible for co-ordination and liaising between Malteser International and local partners/other agencies/local government/local communities/displaced community, as regards Malteser International Protection programme
Represent Malteser International at the stakeholders meeting as necessary e.g. Gender Based Violence Working Group Meeting, NGO Forums etc.

University Degree in Social Sciences or related field with minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience in Protection sector (including at least one year in a supervisory role)
Strong technical knowledge in general protection and GBV programming (i.e., protection monitoring, case management, psychosocial support activities)

Under the supervision of the Area Coordinator, the GBV Caseworker will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to survivors of gender-based violence within Konduga, Mashamari Local Government Area of Borno State. The primary objective is to ensure that survivors receive timely, confidential, and culturally appropriate assistance, including psychosocial support, medical care, and legal... aid. Additionally, they will work to prevent GBV through community awareness campaigns and capacity-building initiatives.


Main Responsibilities:

Case Management:


Provide one-on-one case management services to GBV survivors, ensuring confidentiality and a survivor-centred approach.
Develop individualized care plans based on the needs and goals of survivors.
Coordinate with healthcare, legal, and other service providers to ensure comprehensive care.


Psychosocial Support:


Facilitate group PSS sessions for women and girls, using trauma-informed approaches.
Conduct individual PSS sessions as needed.
Develop and implement PSS activities that promote mental health and resilience.


Awareness and Advocacy:


Conduct awareness-raising sessions on GBV prevention and response within the community.
Advocate for the rights and protection of women and girls.


Reporting and Documentation:


Maintain accurate and confidential case files and records.
Prepare and submit timely reports on activities and case progress.


Collaboration:


Work closely with other GBV team members and partners.
Participate and lead GBV sub sector coordination meetings and trainings as required.


Capacity Building:


Provide training and capacity-building sessions for local staff and community volunteers on GBV and PSS.


Administrative Functions:


Asset and Inventory Management: Maintain and manage an inventory of all assets at the Women and Girls Safe Space, ensuring proper use and documentation.
Supervision of Volunteers: Oversee and coordinate volunteers, ensuring they are effectively integrated into program activities and provided with necessary training and support.
Other programmatic and administrative responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor.
