Job Summary


The Laboratory Manager oversees the daily operations, quality management, and administrative functions of the laboratory.
This position ensures accurate, timely, and efficient diagnostic testing and is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative environment among the laboratory team.

Job Responsibilities


Plan and supervise laboratory activities; specimen collection, running of sample and reporting
Manage the daily workflow to optimize turnaround times and resource allocation
Responsible for the proper functioning of laboratory equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accreditation requirement
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatitives
Conduct performance evaluations and implement staff development plans.
Ensure accurate data entry and management in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Prepare and present regular reports on laboratory operations, quality metrics, and performance to senior management
Prepare and manage bugdets, analyze financial performance, and implement cost control measures
Serve as the primary liason between laboratory and healthcare providers.


Job Specification


Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
8 years of experience in clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
