Job Summary

The Pen house supervisor shall assist the Technical Manager Poultry to ensure that all farm operations are efficiently and effectively managed for optimum result.

Duties & Responsibilities

Directly supervises the pen attendants to ensure the Pen houses and the surroundings are always clean and hygienic
Assigns duties to farm attendants and ensures that they are carried out in... an efficient manner; duties such as feeding, vaccinating poultry, cleaning and disinfecting /fumigating chicken houses, running of manure belts, shipping eggs or maintaining buildings
Assist the Poultry technical Manager in maintaining high standard of biosecurity in the Farm
Assist the Poultry technical Manager in ensuring that vaccination and drugs are correctly administered to avoid and treat avian diseases
Keeps accurate record and renders timely report on all the activities in the Pen House to the TM- mortality, suspected avian disease symptom, birds condition, feeding, water intake etc
Cooperates with the TM to ensure that the adequately birds are fed to achieve good body weight for optimum egg production
Liaises with maintenance team to ensure effective litter and manure disposal
Leads and ensures that the attendance adhere and comply with the standard operating procedures
Records data and creates reports on worker attendance, budget, supplies and animal growth.
Liaises with the maintenance team to ensure the machinery that performs certain tasks, such as egg collection, feeding, water lines are functional
Training new workers, providing care to injured or ill livestock and enforcing workplace sanitation practices to prevent the spread of disease.
Participates in work activities to expedite workload.
Prepares worker attendance, egg production, feed consumption, and poultry mortality reports and renders daily report to the Farm Manager.

Requirements

Qualification: Minimum of BSc / Higher National Diploma in Animal science or Animal production.
Experience: 2-3 years post-graduation working experience as a Poultry Farm experience. more

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the Internal Audit function in the implementation of the internal audit strategy and plan to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

HND / B.Sc in Accounting from any recognized higher institution.
1 - 3 years relevant auditing work experience but sound in the use excel... Package.

Ensures strict adherence to the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the layer farm to achieve set targets for the farm.
Oversees the operations of the feed mill, rearing and layer production houses.
Ensures the welfare of the layer birds by assessing the quality of feeds and care offered, including vaccinations and medications.
Ensures compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory... requirements, including biosecurity and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) procedures to prevent the entry and transmission of pathogens in the farms.
Monitors the performance of layer production and ensure appropriate records are kept for all activities in the farm.
Recognizes and responds in a timely manner to bird’s health (including diseases) and production related issues.
Plans and oversees preparation and stocking procedures pertaining to layer farm, rearing and production.
Facilitates the creation of a conducive work environment for farm personnel and authorised external parties.
Ensures that operations of equipment and other infrastructures are carried out in the farm in accordance with prescribed operating procedures.
Ensures high quality, cost-effective and value-added feed products are produced from the feed mill.
Translates the strategy for the layer farm into actionable annual plans and drives implementation.
Supports the ESG supervisor in conducting periodic assessments of risks associated with operations in the layer farm in order to design mitigating controls.
Responsible for preparing the annual budget of for the layer farm.
Communicates sourcing plan of layer farm inputs, including day-old chicks, feed mill inputs, etc. to procurement team for execution.
Manages and motivates the team members.
Observes and evaluates performance of workers to ensure achievement of sectional targets.
Provides periodic (daily, weekly etc) reports on production figures, inputs utilization figures, mortality and any other required measurable metrics in layer farm.
Performs any other duty as may be assigned by the COO.

Qualifications

HND / B.Sc in Animal Nutrition, Production or Veterinary Medicine with minimum of 7 years experience a poultry farm with at least three years experience as a poultry farm manager. more

Responsible for developing market for all company’s products: broiler birds, spent layers, processed meat, eggs and processed manure.
Setting sales goals and developing sales strategies to achieve the set goals.
Researching prospects and generating leads for all company’s products
Build and maintain relationships with customers by handling customer questions, inquiries, and... complaints.
Research and analyse distribution channels for effective and efficient sales operations.
Stay current with trends and competitors to identify areas of improvements.
Ensures that the company standard operating procedures is strictly adhered to in all sales function.
Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
Supervises the activities of sales and marketing officers for effective performance
Renders daily, weekly, and monthly sales report to the Sales fulfilment Manager.

Qualifications

HND / B.Sc in any related discipline.
Must have at least five years of hands-on experience in sales and marketing of poultry products or any FMCG. more

Works with maintenance team, to ensure effective upkeep of the facility, and poultry production and processing assets.
Actively involved in the actualization of maintenance emergencies.
Actively involved in the timely repair or replacement of faulty machinery or equipment parts.
Participates in determining the methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair... problems.
Actively involved in the repair, overhaul, and modification of farm equipment within the department.
Documents and prepares daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
Collates required data on the activities of their team which includes but not limited to availability of and reliability of equipment under them, issues all applicable reports and utilize the reports to effect improvements on equipment availability.
Improves the mean time to repair by proactively reporting faulty equipment to the supervisors and managers.
Ensures the quality of work meets the required standard and improves on the mean time between failures of repaired equipment.
Follows work methods, sequences, and ensure use of required tools, complex repairs to the equipment.
Complies with technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams, schematics, and similar guides to make repairs and modifications according to specifications and procedures.
Determines the cause of malfunctions of equipment and ensure required repairs are done.
Maintains job work orders; keep record of labor; material, parts, supplies and other records necessary in the repair and maintenance process; control and release of serviced and repaired equipment.
