KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Project Management


Provide technical expertise, oversee coordination, and supervise entrepreneurship activities within the AHC programme, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
Collaborate with the Project Leads in stakeholder management for health entrepreneurship.
Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying potential obstacles and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success and minimize disruptions to Africa Health Collaborative activities. 


 Health Entrepreneurship Support


Lead strategic mapping and vetting of health sector entrepreneurship opportunities, leveraging the private and public financing such as the Social Health Insurance Fund.
Provide comprehensive support to health workforce and affiliated entrepreneurs in business development, focusing on supply chain optimization.
Establish and nurture inter-university social entrepreneurship networks in collaboration with tertiary institutions.
Work with critical stakeholders in public and private sectors to conduct targeted mapping and vetting of entrepreneurship opportunities in the health and related sectors.
Conduct entrepreneurship skills and opportunities mapping among youth and provide training geared towards addressing health ecosystem needs.
Work closely with youth networks, innovation hubs, and tech partners to enable scalable community-driven solutions.
Support the co-creation and implementation of health innovation challenges, bootcamps, and accelerators.
Work with critical stakeholders to develop and deploy training programmes and networks that enhance the health workforce and affiliated entrepreneurs; skills in business development, social entrepreneurship, and supply chain considerations.
Develop, test, and scale sustainable innovative business models, such as Village Savings and Loaning Associations, Social Franchising, Social Marketing and other entrepreneurship models, management platforms and community groups.


 Monitoring, Evaluation Research and Learning


Support monitoring and evaluation processes to assess program progress, ensure accountability, determine impact, and facilitate organizational learning.
Support management of health data monitoring activities, ensuring accurate reporting in various AHC and external systems including CHW registry, dashboards and project-based tools.
Take the lead in documenting, institutionalizing, and disseminating achievements, best practices, and lessons learned from entrepreneurship activity implementation.
Support in conducting and applying research to inform the implementation of best practices in entrepreneurship interventions.
Develop and implement workplans, tools, and methodologies to support health entrepreneurship within the PHC sector.


 Health ecosystem


Support stakeholder policy engagement initiatives, including with youth, to address identified gaps within the health entrepreneurship pillar.
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with health sector entities, government counterparts, regulators, and county stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation.
Represent the organization at county-level technical meetings, conferences, and workshops, collaborating with other Amref Staff to support the co-design and institutionalization of project interventions.
Guide the development and engagement of a health entrepreneurship ecosystem, fostering innovation.

Technical Work

Duties and Responsibilities


Implement outpatient therapeutic care (OTP) for children with severe acute malnutrition and supplementary feeding for moderately malnourished children and PLWs.
Deliver nutrition services in clinics, including assessment, classification, treatment, follow-up, and counseling in accordance with national IMAM protocols.
Lead the rollout of MIYCN, Baby-Friendly Community Initiative (BFCI), and Family MUAC approaches at facility and community levels.
Coordinate with caregiver teams and CHPs to support household-level MUAC screening, health promotion, and early detection of malnutrition.
Provide individual nutrition counseling and support, including for clients with medical complications such as those in Comprehensive Care Clinics (CCC).

The Project Manager will offer strategic vision, technical assistance, and analytical support to Amref’s technical programs and country offices to address market-level access, product utilization, and introduction barriers, including pricing, quality, and supplier diversity. Familiarity with Unitaid Grant Agreement Development (GAD) processes and the capacity to manage multiple partners across several countries in Africa will be key to this role.

Technical Leadership


Provide management, strategic direction and leadership of the project in line with Unitaid guidelines.
Provide strategic oversight to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Manage the project technical team and ensure alignment with the work plan.
Oversee the technical quality of all the deliverables by sub-awardees.
Support work planning and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Collaborate with implementing partners, governments, community organizations, commercial partners, and internal teams to plan and implement access plans
Support the execution of market access strategies in LMICs addressing barriers to access around policy, regulatory approval, implementation models, and financing across a portfolio of essential.


Project Management


Foster and nurture strategic partnerships including with Unitaid, Ministries of Health, local organizations and the private sector.
Manage relationships with consortium partners and ensure quality deliverables are met per the project award agreement.
Serve as the principal contact person for Unitaid, and nurture and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Synthesize findings from implementation research, developed investment cases and cost-impact models, and engage with key stakeholders to garner buy-in at country and regional levels.
Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and adaptive learning of project activities to ensure high-quality, results-driven implementation.
Represent Amref Health Africa in relevant meetings and technical working groups.
Lead the development of quarterly reports and donor presentations, ensuring timely and high-quality documentation and knowledge sharing.


Delivery Performance


Work with the other Advisors including the MEL Advisors to perform technical program reviews, ensure high quality results through identifying steps for improvement and assuring appropriate follow-up.
Synthesize findings from implementation research, develop investment cases and cost-impact models, and engage with key stakeholders to generate buy-in.
Participate in implementing quality assurance processes and tools of the project.
Work closely with the Technical Director – RMNCAH to monitor programme performance and delivery ensuring all deliverables and targets are reached.
Provide line management to country office, responsible for offering technical oversight of the programme.
 Attend consortium level and internal level meetings to review performance against agreed deliverables and offer technical and strategic inputs.
Oversee and ensure execution of key milestones, taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary.
Identify and manage risks so that maximum benefit to the donor and stakeholders is achieved.
Review and synthesize data for programmatic performance monitoring of RMNCAH activities and utilize the data to sustain and/or take corrective actions.
Lead planning and execution of communications strategies through a wide range of channels, including abstract submissions, conference satellite sessions, webinars, blog posts, and policy briefs.


Qualifications

Education and Experience


Master's degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing/Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field 
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience. 
Strong technical expertise in applying MNCH, specifically with demand- and supply-side barriers to the introduction and rapid uptake of innovations programming.
Experience in coordinating A complex, multi-country, multi-partner project.
Strong understanding, familiarity and experience implementing Unitaid-funded project.

The Network and Infrastructure Manager will provide technical leadership and support in ICT network and infrastructure, delivering high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective solutions and platforms to support corporate business throughout Amref’s global footprint, spanning Headquarters, country programmes, and enterprises throughout our offices in Africa, Europe, and North... America.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise and Network Architecture, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a dynamic information system that supports all our operations. This role ensures that technology-driven changes are delivered successfully and embedded in a sustainable manner, ensuring our capabilities and operating model are as efficient and effective as possible, and being fit-for-purpose in achieving the strategic aims.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ICT Infrastructure Leadership and Support


Manage and support ICT infrastructure across Amref Health Africa’s data centers, offices, and programmes in Africa, Europe, and North America (ENA), ensuring reliable operations for all systems, applications, and data security
Support and troubleshoot complex and integrated systems tailored to each country’s specific requirements.
Work very closely in coordinating all country ICT managers and ICT officers on all technical projects and challenges
Manage Amref Health Africa Headquarters data centers and provide shared services to country offices, partners, and stakeholders, while overseeing data management and implementing scalable, up-to-date ICT infrastructure solutions across countries
Configure and manage the network and enterprise IT infrastructure, including switching, routing, firewalls servers, desktops, storage, operating systems, platforms and configurations to CISCO, UCS systems, VMWare, Windows server and client operating systems, datacenters, Active Directory, SQL Servers, SharePoint, Office 365, backup solutions, Switching VLAN's, Routing VPN, VoIP, SIP, Wireless among others.
Ensure standards and procedures are in place across the organization to mitigate complexity
Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, license agreements, modifications, change management and upgrades
Coordinated system upgrades, deployment of applications and service roles to ensure improvement with none or minimal business interruptions
Lead in the design of optimized system standardized across countries


Computing Resources and Access Security Management


Optimize resource utilization by making informed technical decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term impact, ensuring efficient computing resource allocation of storage, memory, processors, bandwidth, and hardware across hosts and servers to support applications and services
Oversee ICT infrastructure operations across Amref Health Africa, ensuring the effective management of hardware, software, and security systems
Create and manage user accounts, ensuring proper access permissions and security across applications and services


Vendor and Supplier Management in Solution Implementation


Contribute to identifying system and user needs to support effective solution implementation
Participate in technical proof of concept to ensure solutions meet requirements
Define ICT infrastructure project scope for seamless integration with existing systems
Set clear expectations on project contracted deliverables, including negotiating access agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the services provided by the infrastructure team.
Manage vendor and supplier relationships across Amref Health Africa operations, and foster strong partnerships with external suppliers to enhance productivity, manage costs, and address system issues effectively


Systems and Applications Monitoring


Continuously monitor infrastructure in real time, and analyze system events, warnings, errors, and alerts to mitigate disaster that may lead to downtime and loss of data, including intrusion detection.
Enhance real-time monitoring tools to track resource utilization, including server data storage, memory, and processing speeds for optimized performance
Monitor network system utilization, forecast future needs, and provide recommendations for capacity planning.
Utilize software monitoring, device management, operating system patching, and configuration tools to identify and resolve performance issues


Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan


Oversee data centers, operating systems, and storage to ensure compliance for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
Conduct regular data backups and implement organization-wide recovery plans to maintain operational capability during emergencies, including on-site support in affected countries when necessary
Implement high availability systems to maximize uptime and minimize disruptions
Ensure data and system backups are up to date and conduct routine quarterly recovery testing, including backup restore tests, verification and documentation
Research, implement, document, and test recovery solutions to enhance system resilience and preparedness


Internet Links Management


Configure, secure, fine-tune, integrate, monitor and manage internet connection to ensure continuous access of services
Track and coordinate with internet service providers to resolve service degradation issues promptly


Data, Application and Information Security


Implement and maintain security measures, including firewall, patches, and centralized antivirus solutions across all sites
Securely publish internal resources for authorized external access
Continuously update antivirus solutions, monitor for virus outbreaks and threats, and share preventive actions with colleagues and staff to enhance cybersecurity awareness


Quality Assurance


Providing technical advisory on ICT related procurement by defining and reviewing technical specifications
Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with scope, and sign off upon successful documentation and training


Technical Help Desk Support


Guide and coach colleagues to foster high performance, teamwork, and knowledge sharing for effective problem-solving
Handle escalated support requests from Headquarters and country offices, and resolve issues or coordinate with vendors for timely resolution and satisfactory case closure


Cloud Solution Support and Integrations (On-Premise and Cloud)


Manage, deploy, secure, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted platform services, applications, and integrations across on-premise and cloud environments.
Support efficient data management and administration of cloud solutions, including Microsoft Office 365 admin, Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Business Central, and CRM among others. 


Other tasks


Provide expert guidance on systems management, support, security, and troubleshooting for all Amref Health Africa offices
Advise on the procurement and acquisition of information system solutions to ensure alignment with organizational needs


Qualifications

Education and Knowledge


Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or a closely related field; Master’s degree in relevant field is a plus
Certifications in CCNP, MCSE, Microsoft Exchange (Online/Hybrid), ITIL, and VMware/Storage; CISA is a desirable qualification
Strong technical expertise in Microsoft SQL management, security and intelligent firewalls, Windows Server 2019 and later, and large-scale system development across cloud, mobile, and web-based platforms
Knowledge of Linux is an added advantage
Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Visio, with the ability to provide guidance and support as needed


Experience


10+ years of experience in Networks and Infrastructure services, with at least 5 years in cloud solutions integration and management
Experience in routing, switching, and firewall management, along with expertise in mail system management including SMTP routing and managing multiple Microsoft Office 365 tenants
