Primary Function 


We're looking for a highly skilled Sound Technician to operate and maintain sound equipment for live events, productions, and installations.  


Key responsibilities: 


Set up and operate sound equipment for performances, including consoles, speakers, microphones, and any additional audio devices. 
Conduct sound checks to ensure optimal audio quality, and making real-time adjustments as needed. 
Mix and regulate sound inputs and feeds to ensure a balanced audio experience for live audiences. 
Implement sound designs as directed and interpret design elements to achieve the desired audio effect. 
Inspect sound equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working order and compliant with safety standards. 
Perform basic repairs and maintenance on audio equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise. 
Inspect hanging gear periodically, attach safety cables and verify that all equipment is secure and in safe working condition. 
Diagnose and resolve media system problems, including any sound, lighting, or video issues that may affect production quality. 
Operate and troubleshoot control consoles for sound, lighting, and video as needed. 
Provide technical support during performances to address audio issues quickly and effectively. 
Collaborate with production teams to achieve desired audio outcomes, ensuring alignment with overall production goals. 
Provide professional advice and technical expertise to clients, assessing their audio requirements and offering tailored solutions. 
Assist with the setup and teardown of audio equipment for each event or production, ensuring that all elements are stored safely and securely. 
Compress, digitize, duplicate, and store audio and video data as required for each production. 
Obtain, set up, and load video media as needed for scheduled performances. 
Follow safety protocols and procedures in all areas of audio operation. 
Operate computers and audio software to program functions, enter data, or process information related to audio requirements.

To assist the technical teams in the setup, operation, and maintenance of stage equipment for live events, productions, and installations. 


Key responsibilities: 


Assist in setting up and striking stage equipment (lighting, sound, rigging). 
Operate stage equipment under the guidance of senior technicians. 
Maintain and perform basic repairs on stage equipment. 
Collaborate with production teams to achieve desired technical outcomes. 
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations. 
Assist with event setup and teardown. 
Operate any stage, Lighting and sound equipment within theatre when needed. 
Serve on all in-house productions and co-productions, responsible to the Senior Stage Technician 
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. 
Responsible for all Stage related operations/initiatives including those that will require travelling. 
Inspect periodically hanging gear and make sure that it is safe to use and in good repair. 
Ensure safety cables are attached to all hanging gear. 
Ensure that scenery bars are in good working order and meets the required safety 
Use computers and computer systems to write software, setup functions, enter data, and/or process information.

Primary Function 

This position is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the finance department... ensuring that the daily accounting and administrative functions of the department is maintained to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the financial position of JCT. Reports to the General Manager: Cost Management Accounting and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information. 

Key responsibilities: 

Complete all required financial accounting procedures, for journals and accruals by: Carry out necessary GL and journal entries, 
Prepare, Capture & Post Monthly Integration Journals between Payroll System and Accounting System, 
Prepare, Capture & Post Monthly Schedules for Leave and 13th Cheque Accruals & Bonus Provisions, Process 13th Cheque & Bonus Payouts Reversal, 
Prepare & Post Monthly Finance Journals. 
Prepare reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the GL to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with required procedures and to ensure compliance with standards, legislation, regulation and policies. 
Complete Reports such as: Payroll Variance Reports, Month to month overtime analysis 
Prepare and ensure accurate and timeous reporting monthly as per reporting deadlines. 
Maintain SARS Compliance Status for both Joburg Theatre (JT) and Roodepoort Theatre (RT) SARS Account 
Submit Income Tax for International Independent Contractors to SARS and Tax payments thereto 
Submit Income Tax Returns (ITR14) for both JT and RT SARS Accounts 
Submit IT14SD when necessary, of IRP6 (Provisional Tax Returns) 
Provide support to Auditors during audit processes by: ensuring attainment of a Clean Audit opinion 
Prepare Year End Reconciliation file ensuring supporting documentation is available 
Prepare Audit File evidence as per AFS 
Monitor and control the payroll function and realization of all deductions and third-party payments in line with policy and statutory requirements by: assisting with technical issues on the Sage Payroll System 
Assist with complex employee related queries PAYE, , Leave, Leave Pay Out, Overtime, 3rd Party deductions 
Assist with 3rd Party queries, Spreadsheets, Calculations & Formulas, Employees Tax, Leave, Monthly Variance Reports, Medical Aid, Pension and Other 3rd Party/Sundry Creditors 
Update files and record keeping systems using sequential alpha-numeric references to code documentation/correspondence and reports and/or retrieving specific information to support processing adjustments/ queries 
Ensure the submission of claims, and update on insurance as in when required 
Request the invoices for OHASA and the COJ insurance. 
Prepare Third party payments schedules 
Reconcile the third-party payments to the schedules
