We are currently inviting applications for the position of Mechanical Plant Technician to be based at our Ewekoro site in Ogun State, Nigeria.

 

This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our plant during assigned shifts, in alignment with company policies, procedures, and operational plans. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver results in accordance with defined standards and guidelines, contributing directly to the plant’s performance and reliability.

Main responsibilities: 


- Maintain and operate the plant during the shift according to company policies, procedures and operation profile/plan.

- Recondition, overhaul and sub-assembly engine and auxiliary equipment components.

- Carry out inspections of all mechanical and pneumatic equipment and take corrective actions when needed.

- Comply with all safety regulations (including isolation, lock out and tag out) and perform emergency procedures in order to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.

- Assist Maintenance Supervisor as required.

- Coach and mentor other technicians and general labor.

-  Ensure that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment's and tools are kept in good and clean condition. Create work reports according to guidelines.



 

Education & experience:


- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in Engineering (B.Eng.) or Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical.

- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

- Experience in Multi-Engine Wartsila Gas / HFO Engine

What will you be doing:

Your work will focus on these main responsibilities:


Operate and maintain the plant during the shift according to company policies and procedures.
Maintain plant power production at the output designated by management. To operate plant within the acceptable loading envelope under plant dispatch directives from utility.
Assist in startup, shutdown and normal... operations of the power plant systems.
Complete and maintain all logs and running records in a clear and concise manner according to guidelines.
Responsible for taking corrective action during system operational disturbance and/or bringing such disturbances to the attention of the Shift Supervisor.
Effectively communicate the condition of the plant equipment and performance to shift charge and fellow plant personnel.
Responsible for maintaining the plant in a clean and safe condition at all times.
