Deputy Director Youth Affairs will be responsible to County Director Youth Affairs in matters related to Youth in the County.

Duties and responsibilities

Coordinate the development of strategies plans for the youth;
Formulate an annual budget for the youth Directorate; 23 c) Develop youth friendly strategies;
Formulate policies to guide on youth groups... management;
Oversee the management of youth programmes;
Develop strategies on youth entrepreneurial programmes;
Enable development of the capacity of youth instructors in the county;
Provide leadership in the management of the youth groups;
Develop linkages with stakeholders involved in youth affairs; and
Develop a work plan on inter and intra county youth involvement;
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement for appointment
For appointment in this grade, a candidate must have: -

 Served in the grade of Assistant Director Youth Affairs for a minimum period of three (3) years or in any comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Public Sector;
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline: Business Management/Administration, Entrepreneurship, Sociology, Social Work, Gender and Development, Culture and Development, Social Development or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Master’s degree in any of the following discipline: Business Management/Administration, Entrepreneurship, Sociology, Social Work, Gender and Development, Culture and Development, Social Development or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be added advantage;
Attended Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution in Kenya; e) Certificate in Computer Application from a recognized institution; and
Demonstrate a thorough understanding for national goals, policies, objectives and the ability to relate them to the Youth Affairs function.
