The Spencerport School District is currently accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher at Cosgrove Middle School.Appointment:  Full-time; probationaryDescription:  Self-contained 12:1:1 classroom Required Credentials:  N.Y.S. teacher certification- Special Education to cover grades 6-8, successful prior teaching or student teaching experience, knowledge of N.Y.S. Learning Standards,... collaborative team member, and technologically proficient.Preferred Credentials:  
- Knowledge of Committee on Special Education process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal writing, implementation and progress monitoring.  General knowledge of elementary and secondary curriculum and instruction.
- Experience with providing special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth in the least restrictive environment.
- Experience with developing and/or modifying curriculum, preparing  lessons and providing specially designed instruction to address individual student needs.
- Experience with establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, teachers and other relevant stakeholders.
