GE Gas Power is seeking a finance trainee to join the SSA Finance team that is currently transforming the way the business financials are monitored and reported at a monthly basis. You will be instrumental in organizing the different project scopes, liaising with several teams and delivering the best suitable solution. At the end of the 8 months period, you will go through... an assessment center and the top candidates will be offered a full time role within the Financial Management Program.
What you’ll do

Partners with teams from within the business unit to specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes.
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Contributes to a wide variety of projects and assignments to grow leadership skills, business acumen, and technical skills.
Works within a team setting and / or under guidance from Assignment Manager.
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree from accredited university with a minimum of second upper class or equivalent
Finance or Accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Demonstrated understanding of the major financial statement reports
0 -2 year of experience in the Finance and Accounting (Internship experience included).
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and PowerPoint

Role Summary

This individual will support Marine & Offshore Business Development in the region. They will help in developing and maintaining a system that will be useful locally for interfacing with current and future local partners, recording all correspondence and also for Reporting back to COE.

Responsibilities

Attending some Customer meetings.
Help in arranging... Customer Meetings.
Assisting with Site Visit preparations for local FSEs.
Help with job planning.
Help in collating data as the Business in the Region is developed so that the long term strategy can be arrived at based on real data.
Working with local sourcing team when items required for site visits.
Develops PowerPoint presentations and other graphic presentations to communicate progress, share best practices, or to provide updates.
 May be asked to analyze data with excel or various other analysis tools. 
May be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars or trainings. 
Performing assignments where trust and accuracy are required

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, or any other related field.
Excellent communication/presentation skills
Fluent written and spoken skills in English
Candidate must have completed the mandatory 3 weeks NYSC orientation camp and must have been posted to Lagos.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering.


Minimum 6 years of experience working in logistics, install project management, or supply chain management.


Demonstrated experience identifying and applying install tools and methods that enable process change.


Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrate experience motivating, influencing, solving complex problems, and driving change at all levels of the organization. 


Proven change leader with demonstrated experience meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.


Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time.
