The consultancy will be under the Food System Resilience and Climate Risk Management (FaRM) portfolio, a team dedicated to empowering low-income and underserved communities through cutting-edge solutions rooted in behavioral insights. This portfolio's work focuses on creating sustainable and impactful solutions for stakeholders in the agricultural sector, food... systems, and environmental sustainability.

The Consultant will support the FaRM team in expanding its portfolio, building strategic partnerships, and securing funding opportunities. The consultant will work closely with the Associate Director of the FaRM team and other stakeholders to strengthen Busara’s engagement.

Specific Responsibilities


Identify and pursue business development opportunities with potential clients, donors, and partners in the agriculture and rural markets space
Develop and refine pitches, proposals, and presentations tailored to various stakeholders
Facilitate strategic partnerships with key organizations and funders in the agricultural sector

This partnership offers an internship that blends education, real-world experience, and collaboration designed to immerse students in applied research for social impact. About the Role:

The role holder, internally referred to as the Voice and Impact Officer, supports the Voice and Impact (V&I) function of Busara by informing decision-making on V&I activities planning and execution and maintaining the Busara website. 
The V&I Officer will be expected to understand the voice and impact strategy and its needs, and contribute to the design of V&I activities, such... as outputs, engagements and internal monitoring of activities and impact.  The V&I Officer will have deep and constantly updated knowledge of the changing media, voice and impact landscape, updated information on Busara Projects and be able to guide activities in the face of changes.  The V& I officer will serve as the Busara webmaster in charge of maintaining Busara’s web presence. In addition, the Officer shall provide operational and logistical support to all voice and impact activities and support liaising across divisions, with a particular emphasis on relationships between V&I , People Team and the Research & Advisory division (particularly the qual and design team), acting as a Traffic Coordinator. The Officer will directly support the VP Voice and Impact in planning and execution of the VP’s activities. The Officer should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Voice and Impact Officer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Stakeholder and Project Engagement

Maintain an understanding of the high-level engagement, the goals of the clients, partners, and teams within Busara.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve inquiries on external and internal voice and impact activities, acting as a resource person for senior leadership, internal teams, and external parties.

About the Internship

As an intern for Busara's Research and Advisory team you will get the chance to dive headfirst into the world of behavioral science and get firsthand experience working on projects in the development space alongside your mentors. This is not your coffee-grabbing internship! Interns are tasked with supporting the research, composing reports, client deliverables, and analysis... on ongoing projects, in close coordination with Analysts, Associates and Engagement Directors, thus exposing them to all sides of research.
This is a full time internship for 10-12 weeks.

The Research Compliance Intern will support research ethics and compliance processes across the organization, working in collaboration with Portfolio Teams and under the supervision of the Senior Project Operations Officer.

About the role:
The Associate supports both the advisory and research arms of Busara by leading the planning, execution, and day to day management of Busara projects.
As primary project manager for all external Busara projects, an Associate quickly gains an expert understanding of a particular problem or research question and uses all tools at their disposal, both within and outside Busara to... execute an engagement to the highest possible degree, with careful consideration of timing and budget.
