Qualification Required & Experience

ROLE PURPOSE
• The purpose of the role is to oversee the operation of all rail systems, locomotives, and associated equipment to ensure smooth and efficient transportation of materials and personnel. • The role holder will plan and manage preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs for rail tracks, locomotives, as well as rolling stock to minimize downtime. • The role holder will also provide leadership and communication necessary to guide his/her team in meeting set key performance indicator (KPI) targets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution. • Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time. • Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion. • Accountable for team’s environmental obligations and performances. • Conduct formal meetings with team and report any weaknesses in the environmental procedures. • Enforce all environmental work procedures that have been issued by the Departmental Manager. • Investigate all environmental incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations for the Departmental Manager for onward submission to the Environmental Manager or his representative. • Develop, manage, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance plans for underground equipment (e.g., rails, loaders, locomotive) and critical infrastructure (e.g., ventilation, electrical systems). • Ensure maintenance activities are aligned with operational requirements to minimize disruptions. • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and standards. • Identify potential safety risks associated with maintenance procedures and implement control measures to minimize risks. • Monitor and analyse equipment performance data to identify recurring issues, optimize maintenance intervals, and extend equipment life. • Oversee the operation of rail systems, locomotives, and associated equipment to ensure smooth and efficient transportation of materials and personnel. • Plan and manage preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs for rail tracks, locomotives, and rolling stock to minimize downtime. • Enforce strict adherence to mine safety regulations and rail transport protocols, focusing on safe operating procedures for both personnel and equipment. • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly. • Ensure compliance with environmental and transportation regulations to protect the workforce and surrounding environment. • Lead and supervise a team of operators, mechanics, and maintenance staff, ensuring they understand safe work practices and follow established operating procedures. • Coordinate transportation schedules to align with mine production goals, ensuring timely and efficient movement of ore, supplies, and personnel. • Collaborate with mine production and planning teams to adapt transportation schedules based on operational needs and shifts. • Monitor locomotive and rail system performance, implementing condition monitoring to detect wear, malfunctions, or potential issues. • Analyse system efficiency, track reliability, and lithium battery power consumption to identify areas for performance improvement and cost reduction. • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for potential incidents involving rail systems, such as derailments or mechanical failures. • Coordinate emergency drills and ensure that all personnel are trained to respond effectively to rail-related emergencies. • Oversee track inspections, alignment adjustments, and repairs, ensuring that rail tracks are maintained according to safety standards. • Implement quality control measures for track installation and maintenance to prevent derailments and prolong the life of the rail system. • Work closely with the mining departments to ensure that rail transportation supports the overall mine production efficiently. • Act as the point of contact for all rail-related needs and coordinate with the mine’s planning team to optimize rail routes, maintenance schedules, and transportation logistics. • Any other work assigned to you by the Engineering Manager-KMS
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, Civil, Building Technology etc) with minimum of 5+ years of experience. OR • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, etc. per Reg. 51 &54 LI2182) with minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in engineering roles, with significant experience in mining operations.
Statutory Qualifications
• Must have an Engineering Superintendent or Sectional Engineer or Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competence from the Inspectorate Division of the Mineral Commission (IDMC) Certifications. • Must have a Professional Engineer (PE) license from either the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) or Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH).

ROLE PURPOSE
• The purpose of the Mine Planning Superintendent role is to give confidence in the Mining Plan by reviewing and interrogating existing data from the life of mine process and produce realistic designs that enable plans and schedules to be produced at the required standard for short-term planning and production systems.

Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering • A post Degree would be considered a strong asset.
Experience
• A minimum of five (5) years' proven experience in long-term mine planning in an underground mining environment of which at least three (3) years at senior supervisory level within a planning/technical department.
Technical Competencies
• Must be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations / screening. • Must be Proficient with Mine Planning Software; demonstrated experience in the use of Datamine studio UG and EPS will be an advantage. • Knowledge of a variety of mining methods applicable to the site. • Excellent Communication Skills • Must possess a Blasting Certificate of Competency • Must possess Mine Rescue certificate of Competency. • Must possess Shift boss certificate of Competency.

ROLE PURPOSE
• The Motor Rewinding Technician reports to the Electrical Supervisor – Surface and is accountable for minewide low and medium voltage rotating machinery overhaul and maintenance, motors rewinding, Big Drive Motors Annual Maintenance, in a safe and compliant manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

About The Job

Role Purpose:

The Obuasi Mine is currently set up as a modern/mechanized underground mine following the completion of Phases I and II of the Redevelopment Project.
This role is a key position within the Project Services and Business Improvement (PSBI) team accountable for assisting the department in managing all project contracts with contractors/consultants to ensure all the... legal requirements are met, and the post contract award management processes are working per AGA standards.

Key Accountabilities:

Review and administer project contracts, service and quality requirements during the various stages of project execution
Prepare contract/project documentation including contracts commitment reports, certificates of practical completion, interim certificates, and final completion certificates for review
Process requests for payment by verifying that such requests are accurate and in accordance with the contract terms and conditions
Identify opportunities to improve various contract administration processes including continuously educating Project Leads, Contract Owners and Contractors on current and/or best contract management practices
Assist the Snr Project Contracts Administrator to implement procedures to minimize and/or manage contractual claims and other related contractual issues
